5 Saturday Traditions Around Boone
As we head into a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend we wanted to share 5 Saturday Traditions around Boone. There are so many great things to be involved with in our amazing community but the following list will make for a truly relaxing and fun day in the High Country.
Warning: You might have so much fun that you forget to grab some lunch… we don’t recommend. 🙂
Snack on a Sticky Bun from Stick Boy Bakery (Boone):
You should absolutely start your morning off by swinging into our favorite local bakery: Stick Boy Bread Company. Carson and his team will always take amazing care of you with their huge selection of baked goods and awesome drinks.
Visit The Original Mast General Store (Valle Crucis):
After visiting Stick Boy you can drive down to the Original Mast General Store and browse through their selection of clothes and candy. Make sure to take some good pictures of the original building and post them to Instagram!
Drive Over the Viaduct:
Swing over to the Parkway for a nice drive and cross over the amazing Linn Cove Viaduct with its amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Walk Around Bass Lake (Blowing Rock):
Before you enter the neat tiny town of Blowing Rock make a quick pit stop at Bass Lake to stretch your legs and enjoy the nice fresh air. Many times you can catch some ducks right along the walking path and, if you are lucky, they will pose for a picture!
Ice Cream In The Park (Blowing Rock):
Finish up the day like a champ! Grab a cup of Ice Cream from Kilwan’s in Downtown Blowing Rock and sit in the park, while you watch the world go by.
